Welcome to Calloway County, Kentucky

Calloway County was formed in 1823 from Hickman County. It is located in the Jackson Purchase region of the State. The elevation in the county ranges from 359 to 640 feet above sea level. In 1990, the county population was 30,735 in a land area of 386 square miles, an average of 79.6 people per square mile. The original county seat was Wadesboro. The current county seat is Murray.
